Is it safe to take Omega-3 fish oil pills during pregnancy if they contain the mackerel?
Okay, so I'm 5 weeks pregnant and knowing Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil pills help with brain and eye development for the baby if taken at the same time so pregnant, I bought some. I took it home and realized that it contains anchovy, cod, sardines and mackerel. I read that the horse has a high content of mercury and that is definitely a fish pregant women should not eat. But the bottle says that the pills were "molecularly distilled to remove pesticides, PCBs, and heavy metals. "So you think you are safe to take during pregnancy because they say they distilled to remove heavy metals (including mercury)? I will ask my doc later, but just want to heard some feedback from you. Thanks in advance!
Omega-3 is amazing for your baby! (: Ask your doctor about other brands. Wal mart is that * have expectations, which is what it takes every day. It is very good. And it does cost so much! (:
