Lovaz (formerly Omacor) vs Carlson Super Omega-3 fish oil?
What is the difference and what makes Lovaz (RX strength) than the grocery store healthy in force against them. I would appreciate your imput phamacist doctor and not personal opinion. Thanks in advance.
* Omacor: Omega-3 fatty acids polyunsaturated oils found in certain types of fish, vegetables and other plant sources. These fatty acids are not made by the body and must be consumed in the diet. Omacor works by reducing the body's production of triglycerides. High triglyceride levels can lead to coronary artery disease, heart disease and accident stroke. Omacor is used along with diet and exercise to help reduce triglyceride levels in the blood. * Omega 3 fish oil: According to Gaziano JM, et al. (2004). Philadelphia: Saunders, adding fish oils (omega -3 fatty acids) to your diet can lower triglyceride levels. The two basically do the same, however, the drug Rx strength can be a more powerful outcome if your doctor prescribes rather than simply tell the diet, exercise and the use of Omega-3 fish oil. Still need to eat healthy and exercise in addition to taking any of these medications.
