Herbal treatments for inattentive ADD?
I'm an inattention-ins that are frustrated with the unpleasant side effects and personality changes that the supplement I've been taking drugs in recent years (in particular, Concerta for a year and then for six Strattera) cause me. I'm thinking of a natural route for treatment, including new techniques of organization, morning exercise, changes in diet and some supplements herbs. On the side of herbal supplement, there are many products that are said to help alleviate the symptoms of AD: Omega 3, Gingko Biloba and St. John's Wort are some who come to mind, although there are many others. Does anyone have experience with this? Can vitamins replace ADD medications, or at least allow me to significantly reduce my daily dose of it?
I have experienced a much more balanced mind to be at least 30 minutes of exercise every day and become a vegetarian … especially the latter. See what diet and exercise does for you, then try some wheatgrass if you need to supplement your health. Omega 3 is also a good choice. Found a significant change in my mental health (I have PD) within 2 weeks of being vegetarian. I promise you: not as difficult as it sounds, and makes it more easier with time. My relationship with food has become even stronger, however, I am more healthy and lose fat. Help to all kinds of mental idiosyncrasies. Good luck to you!
