99.99% of purified fish oil is safe?
I had the Spring Valley Omega 3 Fish Oil (1000 mg capsels). The packaging says it is 99.99% purified. I know it is mercury and other metals in fish oil, so I just wanted to know if that is bad 01%.
All right. I would like take cod liver oil, instead. One concern about taking fish oil or cod liver oil is the presence of contaminants – heavy metals (Such as mercury, cadmium and lead), PCBs, etc.. Fortunately, consumers do not have to worry about when it comes to cod liver oil. All liver oils Cod in the U.S. must be tested according to the protocols of the Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) and approved free of detectable levels of 32 contaminants before that can be imported into this country. In addition, mercury is soluble in water. May be present in fish meat, but is not present in the oil. Making oils Fish is not the same as taking cod liver oil. A spoonful of cod liver oil and half tablespoon of regular cod liver oil-vitamin providing the amount of elongated omega-3 fatty acids found in twelve 1,000 mg fish oil capsules. Another concern is rancidity. cod liver oil can become become rancid if improperly handled. In a 1988 study, peroxide values (indicating rancidity) ranged between a minimum of 2 to maximum 44.7. However, the cod liver oil is relatively stable properly handled. Contains 21 percent saturated fatty acids and 57 per cent of fatty monounsaturated fatty acids, which provide stability. The fish smell of cod liver oil is due to the presence of small amounts of fish protein and not a sign of rancidity. To ensure that your cod liver oil is fresh, avoid buying the large economy size or the end of the season-selling item. Buy oil cod liver oil in small dark bottles and store in a cool, dark place. cod liver oil does not need to be refrigerated after opening if it runs out quickly – within two months. Virtually all cod liver oil imported into the U.S. comes from Norway, and while all this is sure, there are varying degrees depending on levels of vitamins. The lighter oil on top "of the barrel" has a lower molecular weight, becomes rancid more quickly and has lower vitamin levels, while the heavy oil, which sinks, is richer in vitamins. The heavier oil is cod liver oil of high vitamin. Contains twice the amount of vitamin A and D as cod liver oil regularly. Virtually all cod liver oil imported by the U.S. is the clearest, "part top of the barrel "variety. I am taking the high vitamin cod liver oil of cinnamon-flavored green. CaPSL come in also if you want the liquid. http://www.greenpasture.org/products/cod-liver-oil/1036
